A straightforward way to secure a casualty before recovery.

01
When the lifejacket inflates, the MOB Lifesaver becomes accessible on top of the bladder, ready for the rescuer to grab.

02
The rescuer can grab the Lifesaver by hand or use a boathook to reach it from the safety of the boat.

03
Once the Lifesaver is in hand, it can be used to secure the casualty to the boat, preventing them from drifting away while the crew prepares for recovery.

04
With the casualty secured, the crew can establish their preferred retrieval system and recover them back on board using the vessel’s equipment.
The first challenge is getting hold of someone who cannot help themselves.
On a yacht, reaching down over the topsides to attach a line to a casualty can be extremely difficult. Even on a motorboat with a bathing platform, keeping hold of an unresponsive person can present a significant challenge.
MOB Lifesaver changes that first step. The recovery point is already with the casualty, allowing the rescuer to reach it from the boat using a boathook and secure the person before preparing the lifting system.

MOB Lifesaver buys the crew time to establish a controlled recovery. Once the casualty has been secured to the vessel, the crew can concentrate on establishing the appropriate recovery system for their boat and circumstances. This could involve existing onboard equipment such as a winch, halyard, block and tackle or other suitable lifting arrangement. The exact recovery method will depend on the vessel, conditions and casualty. MOB Lifesaver is not the lifting system itself. Its job is to help you make the crucial first connection between the casualty and the boat. That last sentence is important because it makes the product’s role absolutely clear and avoids overstating what the Lifesaver does.
