When someone can’t help themselves, getting hold of them is the first challenge.
MOB Lifesaver attaches to the lifting becket of a compatible lifejacket and is stowed within the jacket. When the lifejacket inflates, the Lifesaver is positioned so it can be grabbed by hand or with a boathook.
This gives the rescuer a way to secure the casualty to the boat without having to reach down and attach a line directly to them. Once secured, the crew can set up their chosen recovery system.
A lightweight piece of equipment designed to stay with the lifejacket, yet strong enough to take the load when it matters.
MOB Lifesaver is hand-spliced from 3 metres of 3 mm brightly coated HMPE rope (High Modulus Polyethylene). The rope forms a continuous loop with a large handle at one end, making it easy for a rescuer to grab by hand or with a boathook.
The Lifesaver floats on the water and is incredibly strong. It is labelled to lift over 1 tonne, while testing has demonstrated break loads of well over 2 tonnes.
Small enough to remain unobtrusive in a lifejacket, but built to provide a strong and reliable connection between the casualty and the boat when it is needed most.

MOB Lifesavers have been conformity tested to ISO 12402 with selected lifejackets from leading manufacturers.
While you can add equipment to an existing lifejacket, adding a new component can affect its conformity and manufacturer warranty. For a new lifejacket to be sold with a MOB Lifesaver included, the combination needs to be tested for conformity.
Selected lifejackets from Spinlock, SeaSafe, Baltic, Crewsaver and Mustang Atlas have therefore been conformity tested to ISO 12402 with MOB Lifesavers included.
Keep the recovery system with the person, ready to deploy when the lifejacket inflates.
MOB Lifesaver is fitted to the lifejacket’s lifting becket (lifting loop) and stored in its pouch or loose in the lifejacket. Detailed fitting instructions are provided for compatible lifejackets, helping ensure the Lifesaver is correctly positioned and ready for use.
